Doug and Gail Nesbit purchased McBrides Monumental Services Ltd from McBride Bros in April 1994. As a member of the New Zealand Master Monumental Masons Association (NZMMMA), the passionate team will guide you through the process of selecting a memorial headstone or plaque representing your loved one.

With a focus on restoration, cleaning and maintenance of headstones, as well as new headstones, McBrides Monumental service a large area throughout South Otago including Lawrence, Milton, Balclutha, Clinton, Owaka and surrounding areas in the Clutha District.

All headstones are crafted on-site with granite imported from overseas. We use granite for our headstones as this stone is resilient to our weather conditions.

McBrides is a combined business with Signworks and utilises the design eye of Murray Race, Jaimeson Samuel and Angela Mulrine. We can create the right memorial that is unique to your friends and family and truly represents your loved ones.

Doug Nesbit

Doug Nesbit has worked in the funeral industry since 1981 and in the monumental industry since 1994. He did his training, qualified in the monumental industry and served on the New Zealand Master Monumental Masons Association (NZMMMA) national executive for two three-year terms. Doug enjoys the people, the family contact and helping them through all different options in creating a lasting monument.

Gail Nesbit

Director/Office Manager

Gail Nesbit has lived and worked in Balclutha all her life and has been involved in the funeral and monumental business alongside Doug since 1981 doing the office and administration work.

Jenna Melvin

Managing Director/Monumental Mason/Installer

Jenna Melvin completed her Monumental Mason apprenticeship in 2023 Jenna, has lived in South Otago all her life, is here to assist and guide you in creating the perfect memorial for your loved one.
